Elderly residents visit Littlemoor

Residents of Askarne Day Centre, a centre for the elderly, visit Littlemoor each half-term as part of an exciting project which links young children and elderly people.

On Tuesday 12th February a group of Year 2 children read to the elderly people, drew with them and took part in a sing-along session. Visitors from the centre benefit from social interaction with each other as well as engaging in fun activities which allow the children to increase their interaction with adults.

Carol-Ann Turner, Headteacher of Littlemoor Infant Academy, said “We are so proud of our children. They are forming really positive relationships with our elderly community who always leave Littlemoor with a broad smile on their faces”.
